    Old State House

    Site of the Hartford Convention and the first Amistad trial - this statehouse is said to be the oldest statehouse in the nation. Completed in 1796, the statehouse features restored rooms, including the 1820 Senate Chamber, the Victorian-era City Council room and the Colonial Revival-style Supreme Courtroom.

    The Cheney brothers historic district is recognized as a National Historic Landmark. It consists of the existing silk mills the Cheney family used to own, as well as a number of 19th and 20th century buildings. It was created to commemorate one of the most influential families in Manchester, the Cheneys.

    Old New-Gate Prison & Copper Mine

    The Old New-Gate Prison & Copper Mine can be found in East Granby, and showcases the mine tunnels from one of Connecticut's first copper mines. These tunnels were subsequently used as a jail from 1773-1827, and visitors today can tour the remains of this unique prison. Located on Newgate Road.
